Inspired by the luminous waters of Ibiza, the Sea Glass collection draws its color palette from the shifting shades of the Mediterranean. Created with shells collected along New York's Atlantic shoreline, each piece brings together the natural character of the coast with the colors and light of the Mediterranean. Each shell is transformed by hand into a one of a kind art object. Combining the natural form with layers of glass, mirror, pearls, ceramic and a variety of other reflective details. The light moves across a mirrored and sparkly surface, giving each piece its own depth, movement, and character which reminded me of how the sunlight dances across the ocean surface.
The shells are individually finished with gold or silver leaf or its natural outer shell. The metallic finishes may vary in tone and sheen, from softer, more muted finishes to brighter, more reflective ones. While some shells may share the same finish, others may feature different shades of gold or silver. These variations are intentional and part of the individual character of each piece.
